1. Acceptance

By using the Log Now web app or submitting a log, you agree to these Terms of Use and the Privacy and Security Policy.

If you do not agree, you should not submit a log.

2. Who we are

Log Now Decide Later gives you a private space to log what happened without having to decide what comes next. You may return later, add more later, or take no further action. The Log Now web app is built around survivor choice, privacy, and control. For legal and administrative purposes, our organization's legal name is Log Now Report Later.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Log Now web app.

4. What the Log Now web app does

The Log Now web app provides a private, institution-free space for survivors to log what happened and optionally answer demographic, barrier, timing, and feedback questions.

5. What the Log Now web app does not do

Not a report to law enforcement;
Not a report to a school;
Not a Title IX report;
Not a report to a court;
Not medical care;
Not therapy or counseling;
Not legal advice or legal representation;
Not an emergency service.

6. Emergency / immediate danger disclaimer

If you are in immediate danger or need emergency assistance, contact emergency services or a trusted local crisis resource. Log Now Decide Later is not monitored as an emergency service.

7. Privacy and anonymity

No account;
No username;
No email required for the Log Now web app;
No contact through the Log Now web app;
Private text box is designed to be accessible only with your code;
Lost codes cannot be recovered.

Log Now Decide Later and partner organizations cannot read your private text box.

8. Your control and optional answers

You do not have to answer any question. You may submit a blank log. Optional demographic, barrier, and timing responses may be used in anonymous, aggregated form. Optional feedback and "Other" write-in responses may be reviewed by Log Now Decide Later and, where applicable, by the partner organization connected to the community link used, to improve the Log Now web app, understand community needs, and identify whether additional response categories should be added. These optional responses are stored separately from your private text box and are not designed to be linked back to it.

9. Free-text caution

Please do not include names, contact information, addresses, school names, workplace names, or other details that could identify you or another person unless you choose to do so.

10. Code responsibility

You are responsible for saving your access code. If you lose your code, Log Now Decide Later cannot recover it for you.

11. Use of optional data

Optional demographic, barrier, and timing responses may be used to understand barriers survivors face and may be shared in anonymous, aggregated form. Optional feedback and "Other" write-in responses may be reviewed by Log Now Decide Later and, where applicable, by the partner organization connected to the community link used, subject to the Aggregate Data Safety Rule. We do not share individual private text boxes.

12. Partner/community data

Partner organizations may not access individual private text boxes. Partner-level, community-level, subgroup-level, public aggregate data, optional feedback, and "Other" write-in responses will not be displayed or disclosed unless at least 10 submissions are included in the displayed result. Suppressed results will display as "Not enough data to display safely."

13. Prohibited uses

Do not attempt to access another person's log;
Do not attack, scrape, reverse engineer, or disrupt the Log Now web app;
Do not submit malware or harmful code;
Do not attempt to identify other users;
Do not misuse partner links or aggregated data.

14. User submissions

By choosing to answer optional questions, you allow Log Now Decide Later to process those responses as described in these Terms and the Privacy and Security Policy. Optional demographic, barrier, and timing responses may be used in anonymous, aggregated form. Optional feedback and "Other" write-in responses may be reviewed as described above.

15. Availability and changes

The Log Now web app may be changed, paused, updated, or discontinued. Features may be modified as the MVP evolves.

16. Disclaimer of guarantees

We work to protect privacy and security, but no online system can be guaranteed to be completely secure or continuously available.

17. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms as the Log Now web app evolves. The "Last updated" date will show when changes were made.
