No Accounts / No Notifications
You can use the Log Now web app without creating an account, username, or sharing contact information. We will not contact you through the Log Now web app because this form does not collect contact information.
Data Security
By design, the application stores as little identifying information as possible:
- No IP addresses are stored or logged
- No cookies or browser tracking
- No user accounts or email addresses
- No session data that could identify a visitor
What is stored:
By choosing to answer optional questions, you allow Log Now Decide Later to process those responses as described in these Terms and the Privacy and Security Policy. Optional demographic, barrier, and timing responses may be used in anonymous, aggregated form. Optional feedback and "Other" write-in responses may be reviewed as described above.
- The encrypted private text (unreadable without the user's access code). Private text boxes are not readable by Log Now Decide Later or partner organizations.
- A hashed version of the access code (cannot be reversed)
- Optional demographic, barrier, timing, feedback, and "Other" write-in responses, stored separately from private text boxes.
- A date stamp (date only, no time) on each log entry
Data submitted through the Log Now web app is transmitted using HTTPS encryption.
Data We Collect
Total number of logs submitted. This data is designed to be anonymous and not linked to individual logs.
Optional Data We Collect With Your Consent
Optional demographic, barrier, and timing questions may be compiled and viewed in anonymous, aggregated form. Optional feedback and "Other" write-in responses may be reviewed by Log Now Decide Later and, where applicable, by the partner organization connected to the community link used, to improve the Log Now web app, understand community needs, and identify whether additional response categories should be added. These optional responses are stored separately from your private text box and are not designed to be linked back to it.
Use of Data
Optional survey responses may be used to understand how different survivor identities affect reporting and seeking medical, counseling, and/or legal services. Optional feedback and "Other" write-in responses may be used to improve the Log Now web app, understand community needs, and identify whether additional response categories should be added. We do not share individual private text boxes.
Aggregate Data Safety Rule
We do not display or disclose partner-level, community-level, subgroup-level, or public aggregate data, optional feedback, or "Other" write-in responses unless at least 10 submissions are included in the displayed result. Suppressed results will display as "Not enough data to display safely."
Data Retention and Deletion Policy
When a log is deleted, the private text is deleted. Optional survey, demographic, barrier, timing, feedback, and "Other" write-in responses may remain because they are stored separately from individual private text boxes and are not designed to be linked back to them.
Breach Notice
Because the Log Now web app is designed not to collect names, accounts, emails, or contact information from Log Now web app users, direct notice may not be possible. If notice is legally required and we do not have sufficient contact information, we will provide substitute notice as permitted by applicable law, which may include conspicuous website notice, partner communications, or other legally permitted notice methods.
Availability and Changes
The Log Now web app may be changed, paused, updated, or discontinued. Features may be modified as the MVP evolves.
Disclaimer of Guarantees
We work to protect privacy and security, but no online system can be guaranteed to be completely secure or continuously available.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy as the Log Now web app evolves. The "Last updated" date will show when changes were made.
